My research focuses on tracing and understanding element cycling and mobilization between soil, groundwater and rock. Therefore, I want to use stable isotopes, which can act as a naturally occurring tracer for microbial or inorganic processes. I have worked in the field of carbonate sedimentology, hydrogeology and geological CO2 storage. Now I want to learn something about the importance of microbial communities in biogeochemical interactions between soils and groundwater.
