Remediation Symposium 2016 PDF Print

15th symposium on remediation/

15. Sanierungskolloquium

From “expert knowledge” to basic science to application:
15 years of bio-geo interactions

October 13-14, 2016, Jena

Invitation

Dear friends and colleagues,

we would like to welcome you to Jena for our 15th symposium. We will take the occassion to reflect the results of 9 years of funding of a Research Training Group „Alteration and element mobility at microbe-mineral interfaces“ by the German Science Foundation. This is structured with three sessions on the main topics of conversion of elements forming, e.g., supergene ore bodies of manganese  and iron (hydro)oxides with microbial impact, the biological weathering of minerals, or the production of minerals induced or controlled microbiologically.
In addition, we will introduce applications of knowledge gained in bioremediation and with impact on the paths from and to minerals and rocks, through the water phase, with reactive transport, and into nutritional webs.
We hope the meeting will allow us all to exchange ideas and identify new roads of interaction and collaborative research.

Erika Kothe and Georg Büchel
